OUR TOWN
Le Petit Théâtre Du Vieux Carré 2015
~*~
Carol Dickerson Sutton was a magical person. On the stage, on the screen, and in real life. Every night during our run of OUR TOWN, I would watch her monologue and it made me cry and laugh. Every. Single. Night. She made it all look so effortless. She was a joy to be around, and listening to her talk about acting and theatre will stay with me forever. She also came to our table-read off-book—always a pro, always a class act. One of my favorite things in the world is when I’m watching a show on T.V., and I see her glorious personage come on the screen. I always jump up and shout, “Ms. Carol! Look, it’s Ms. Carol!” Then I clap and cheer, because somehow, by my very good fortune and incredible luck, I am connected to her, if only in the smallest of ways.
My heart is with the theatre community of New Orleans tonight. Carol Dickerson Sutton will be so missed and mourned.
